Overview

What is DSIP?

Delta sleep-inducing peptide is a naturally occurring nonapeptide first isolated from rabbit cerebral venous blood during induced sleep. Research interest concerns sleep architecture rather than sedation.

Mechanism

How it works

DSIP has been studied in relation to delta-wave sleep activity, corticotropin regulation, and stress adaptation. It is not a sedative and does not work through the pathways used by conventional sleep medications.

Wellness support

Potential wellness support areas

These areas are commonly discussed within wellness-focused protocols. They are educational statements, not medical claims or guarantees of outcome.

  • Explored for deep sleep quality
  • Discussed for stress adaptation
  • Potential support for sleep-wake regulation
  • Used where sleep depth rather than sleep onset is the concern

Administration

Format & dosing

Subcutaneous injection in the evening before bed. Dosing is typically conservative and adjusted based on your reported sleep response.

Labs & monitoring

Labs, testing & monitoring

Your physician determines the final testing requirements for DSIP after reviewing your intake. The panels below are what is commonly reviewed for this therapy — they are educational guidance, not a fixed requirement.

Bloodwork status

Provider Determines Testing

Commonly reviewed at baseline

  • Comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP)
  • Thyroid panel (TSH)
  • Morning cortisol

Follow-up & monitoring

Sleep quality and morning alertness guide follow-up. Additional testing is at your physician's discretion.

  • Pregnancy or nursing
  • Active malignancy without oncology clearance
  • Known hypersensitivity to the preparation
  • Untreated obstructive sleep apnea

Medication interactions

Your physician reviews all prescriptions, supplements, and over-the-counter medications during intake before anything is prescribed.
